The Medical Assistant program at Eastern Maine Community College equips students with the necessary skills to work in ambulatory health care settings such as physicians' offices, clinics, and group practices. The program provides hands-on training in basic and advanced medical assistant skills, following the guidelines set by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Graduates are eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) national certification exam, and the program holds accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
