In the HI 6000 Medical Assistant program, students will gain essential skills to become a Certified Medical Assistant, an integral member of the health care team responsible for providing patient care under the supervision of physicians and other licensed providers. The training encompasses both clinical care and medical administrative tasks.
The online program consists of four courses that prepare students for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant training:
- Human Anatomy and Medical Terminology
- Professionalism in Allied Health
- Clinical Medical Assisting
- Medical Office Procedures and Administration
These courses provide medical knowledge and skills applicable to both front and back-office operations, as well as developing effective patient interaction.
Upon successful completion of the training, students are eligible to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exams, administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). The cost of all exams is covered by MedCerts.
