Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

• Enter the allied health workforce as competent entry-level medical assistants in cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning domains.
• Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and job performance.

• Pass a nationally recognized medical assistant credentialing exam.
• Communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing, finances, and coding.
• Manage health information and utilize Electronic Health Record systems.

The program length for the Medical Assistant program at Renton Technical College is 4 quarters for the Certificate of Completion option and 6 quarters for the Associate of Applied Science and AAS-Transfer options.
