The Medical Coding and Billing (MC&B) program provides students with the technical skills and knowledge for an entry-level position in a healthcare setting. Once certified, students will work as entry-level Medical Coders and/or Billers in a medical office, clinic, or hospital. MC&B specialists learn how to code diagnoses and procedures performed or identified by a physician, process health insurance claims, examine coverage issues, and handle billing and collections. This training can lead to industry-recognized certifications including Certified Professional Coding (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), and/or Certified Medical Coder (CMC).
