The Medical Assisting program at Tri-County Technical College provides students with the necessary skills for non-hospital medical settings, combining administrative and clinical duties in a structured schedule with limited night or weekend shifts. Graduates acquire a diverse skill set through externships, often leading to job opportunities post-certification. The program, accredited by CAAHEP, focuses on cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains for career success, boasting a 100% exam passage rate for AAMA certification. It also highlights occupational risk awareness and offers pathways for high school students and transfer options for further education. For more details, contact Program Director Laura L. McClain at lmcclain@tctc.edu.
The program length will take approximately one year. However, students attend 1-2 semesters prior to
complete the majority of the general education courses, which is strongly
recommended
