The Medical Assistant Program at Valley College of Medical Careers offers a comprehensive curriculum focusing on essential skills for medical assistants in both front and back office settings. Students are trained in a variety of areas including computer applications, office procedures, business communication, job readiness, personal development, EKGs, venipunctures, specimen collection, vital signs, CPR, First Aid, lab tests, patient data collection, and assisting in minor surgeries. The program also provides externship opportunities for hands-on experience and places emphasis on Anatomy & Physiology and Medical Terminology. Graduates are prepared to work in diverse medical environments such as doctors’ offices, hospitals, clinics, and emergency care facilities as front and/or back office assistants.
