Highline College Medical Assistant Des Moines, Washington

The Medical Assistant Program at Highline College equips students with a range of skills necessary for administrative and clinical tasks in medical offices. The program focuses on developing cognitive, psychomotor, and affective competencies essential for the medical assistant profession. Students also benefit from a 180-hour externship experience in real healthcare settings for practical training. Graduates are prepared for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam and other national certifications, meeting the criteria to become a Medical Assistant-Certified in Washington State.

The Medical Assistant program at Highline College offers both an associate's degree and a certificate. The certificate program can be completed in six quarters, while the associate's degree program can be completed in eight quarters, including summer quarters.
