Online Medical Billing and Coding Training

The Online Medical Billing and Coding Training at Middle Georgia State University prepares students to become certified medical billing and coding specialists. This 100% online course covers the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), CPT Category II, and ICD-10 codes. Students will gain hands-on practice using medical billing and coding software. Upon completion, students will receive a voucher for the certification exam of their choice: CPC, CCA, or CBCS. The course objectives include learning how to assign CPT Category II and ICD-10 codes, gaining hands-on billing experience, and preparing for professional certification exams. The curriculum includes medical terminology and medical billing and coding topics such as health insurance, managed healthcare, revenue cycle management, legal aspects, various coding systems, and more.
